Hi, welcome to my blog.

Hi, I am Mac.  I cannot type very well because I am missing my front leg so my human host, Melissa, will be doing the typing for me.

I am 8 months old.  I was recently adopted by a wonderful family.  I had an unfortunate situation where my previous owners were not so smart in how they cared for me.  I was hit by a car and had surgery on my paw.  They took me home and allowed me to play in the wet mud.  The vet called and wanted me back in to check on my paw.  My old owners did not want to pay for another office visit so did not take me back in. They instead covered by wet, yucky bandage with new bandage and yes, duct tape.  What the heck were they thinking?  Well, I got gangrene.  The vet was so nice that they diligently kept calling my old owners and asked them to bring me in for a check up.  It took 3 weeks but they finally did.  Unfortunately it was too late to save my leg.  The owners gave up their rights to me.  The vet called up a wonderful client of theirs and asked her to spread the word that they would pay for the surgery if someone would give me a home.  She, at first, had until 5 pm to find someone to adopt me or they were going to euthanize me.  She got on Facebook and spread the word to all her friends.  So many people called on me.  The vet and his staff fell in love with me too so they had already decided they couldn’t euthanize me.  Well, my new owner called on me so many times in hopes she would could be my new owner.  Thanks to the vet’s client and her recommendation my new mommy won.  She came and picked me up 2 weeks ago.  I have a new home with Gracie, the queen boxer, 2 human kids, and my human mommy and daddy.  Life is good in my new home.

Well, I am tired.  I will have my human mom write more about my road to recovery and my learning to adapt with my 3 legs and new life.
