My human mom took me to a dog training center yesterday to meet with her human friend Lillian. Lillian is my human mom’s go to person with any questions regarding boxers and how to train them. In fact, Lillian is involved in “boxer” rescue, saving dogs like me and placing them in happy new homes. If my human mom hadn’t adopted me Lillian was ready to jump in to make sure I would end up in a happy new home. She’s great. She trimmed my nails yesterday so that I wouldn’t have to slide around on the hardwood floors. She designed this incredible contraption that has me floating in air while she takes the dremmel to my nails. It was so nice to have the weight taken off my front leg.
After my pedicure Lillian taught my human mom how to walk with me on a leash, even though I have 3 legs I am still very powerful and my human mom often walks me while carrying her baby girl so she needs to make sure I cannot pull her and the baby. Lillan also shared with my human mom that I needed to be touched more. I was showing Lillian by my reactions that I am not often petted in my sensitive areas and because my human mom has children Lillian shared with her how important this is. She also showed my mom a couple of ways to teach me my name and to make sure that every time my human mom is around I look straight at her like she is the most important human in my life (I know she is but my human mom needs to know I know that).
Once we got home I was able to rest a while and then my boxer friend Gracie and I had some fun romping around the backyard. I really like it here.
